If you follow me on twitter, you’ve most likely read about how my life has just been taken over my school lately. That’s also another reason why I haven’t been updating frequently on this blog but I also think that’s mainly because I’ve been lazy to go out and take pictures (am I even allowed to label myself as a blogger?). My friends and I finally took a trip to the city to visit a restaurant and cafe that I wanted to go to for a long time. Luckily they were right beside each other, which saved us time.
The moment I stepped inside Saturday Dinette I was taken back a bit (in a good way). There were only two workers, an open kitchen, and the atmosphere was very cozy and welcoming. As much as I wanted the marbled table, those sat 2 people and I went with 2 other people so we decided to sit at the bar. After pretty much studying the menu, going back and forth and what to order, I ordered the ‘Jayne Mansfield’ and the moment it came out I had no regrets in picking it. Surprisingly enough it was my first time having the wings + waffle/pancake combination and I was a little skeptical of how it would be like but it was soosososososo good. The pancakes were not the ones you would normally eat and the combination of them were just too good to be true.
After feeding our stomachs, we walked over to Hailed Coffee to get some work done with a cup of coffee. You’ve probably noticed by now but I’m currently playing around with adding text to my pictures. I thought doing this will add some sort of character and make the pictures a bit more interesting than it might’ve been before. Visiting cafes during the weekdays is so much better than weekends. There was hardly anyone there when we went and were able to not get in anyone’s way while taking our pictures and could get our work done in quiet. The interior of this cafe was filled with white scandi-inspired chairs, warm toned wooden tables, and lots and lots of succulents (pretty much all things that I want in my future home). If you’re all about nicely curated cafe spaces with good coffee, Hailed Coffee is definitely a place you need to visit.
I recently the ‘Nifty Fifty’ for my camera and have been loving the pictures that I’ve been taking with it so far. Hopefully this pushes me to take photographs more. I’m also planning to post more about Toronto’s cafes/restaurants and other places that can be worth visiting on this blog. If you like reading about city guides or about the little nooks that cities are composed of, make sure to be on the lookout for that!
